Nissan Skyline R34

customer feedback

1994 Nissan Skyline GTR

Just letting you know I have picked up the car and its great! Just one thing I wanted to ask was if you can find out whether or not there was an extra key with the vehicle. I have only got 1 key, which is just a normal one, I thought the GTR key would be something different. So I'm not sure whether that it just came with the one key or if it did come with the second its gone missing.

Otherwise everything seems nice, it just needs some good attention, but it looks really really nice.. And goes quiet well too.

Thanks for your help in purchasing this car.

Nissan Skyline (R34 series)

Introduced in 1998 the R34 Skyline again saw a revision in the Skylines styling and performance and maintained the Skyline character with RB series engines powering the full range, and updated but still instantly recognizable "hot plate" round red tail lights.

Major changes aside from the new body styling and interior over the R33 included the NEO revision to the RB series of engines, producing greater power and torque with better fuel economy via variable valve timing and a variety of other changes. The 2.5L non turbo now produced 147kW (200hp), the 2.5L turbo produced 208kW (280hp) and although not receiving the NEO treatment and still claiming to be 208kW, the RB26DETT twin turbo GTR's were in reality now producing significantly more power than that figure really indicated.

4 piston front brake calipers on most turbo models received larger brake disks (GTR's had improved Brembo brakes), suspension components and HICAS 4 wheel steering received tweaks, the chassis was made stiffer, and traction control was offered on most RWD models. Dual airbags were standard across the lineup (quad airbags a rare option) as well as ABS brakes, and all but the most basic auto models featured steering wheel button controlled tiptronic mode.

The GT-R also came with an optional (though very common) TV screen which displayed a number of engine vital statistics and G-forces encountered. As anyone who has driven one can attest, the R34 GTR is devastatingly fast, and is probably the quickest vehicle out of Japan until the release of the R35 GTR some 6 years later.
