Toyota Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno (AE111 series)

In mid 1995 Toyota introduced the AE111 chassis Corolla, available in Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno styles, they were essentially the same car with only very minor body differences. The Corolla Levin/Trueno was offered in a sports model with the 4AGE 20 valve engine, a 1,600cc engine with 5 valves per cylinder, variable valve timing and individual throttle bodies. Essentially Toyota's answer to Honda's VTEC engines, the 4AGE sends an impressive 121kW (165hp) to the front wheels from a 1,600cc non turbo engine via extremely efficient heads and lofty rpms. Weighing a mere 1,050kg this makes the AE111 a real pocket rocket and so impressive is the 4A-GE 20 valve engine is it a favourite for engine swaps into other lightweight cars amongst tuners.

AE111 Corolla Levins and Sprinter Truenos came with either an automatic transmission, 5 speed transmission for series 1's and 6 speed transmission for series 2's.

Series 1 base model, 1,600cc 20 valve engine and 14 inch wheels. This model is allowed for import
BZ-V
BZ-G spec, but with LSD and 15 inch wheels. 5 speed manual for series 1, 6 speed manual for series 2. This model is allowed for import
BZ-V Super Strut and BZ-R Super Strut
BZ-G and BZ-R models but with Super Strut suspension offering improved handling via a multi link suspension design. This model is allowed for import
BZ-R
Essentially replaced the BZ-V in series 2; LSD, 15 inch wheels and Super Strut suspension as standard. Note: All standard features available on the top spec BZ-R were optional on lower spec models, so in fact it is possible to find a BZ-G with identical specs to a BZ-R. This model is allowed for import
XZ and FZ
4AFE 1,600cc models without the high power output 20 valve black top engine. These models are not allowed for import
