Covid-19 update

Importing is continuing as usual during the Covid-19 pandemic. At present the Japanese auction system and and related infrastructure is unaffected as are other services utilized during the import of a vehicle. This includes international shipping, Australian customs clearance and quarantine, and compliance of vehicles to Australian standards.

At present the only impact Covid-19 has had is that we are experiencing some mild delays of 2 - 3 weeks for vehicles shipped from the port of Yokohama, as less vessels are coming out of China which then call on Yokohama before ultimately sailing to Australia.

We have seen some other minor consequences more relating to the economic impact, due to the worsening of the Australian exchange rate prices have gone up (particularly for more expensive, high end cars) and unfortunately this is likely to remain the same for some time. There has however been a slight decrease in Japanese sale prices which partially, but not completely, conteracts this.

J-Spec will continue to import cars and service customers, and we wish everyone the best during these difficult times.
