Nissan Cima and Nissan President (F50 series)

The fourth-generation Cima (F50 shape) was officially released in January 2001 and is Nissan's top end luxury model designed to compete with Lexus and European brands, had it been sold in Australia one would expect the higher spec models to have been around the $150,000 mark. In other worldwide markets the Cima was sold under the Infiniti badge as the Q45. Nissan's new design identity was thoroughly worked into both the exterior and interior, and the Cima became known for its unique 7-reflector headlights. There was also the Nissan President which is the long wheelbase model with additional leg room for rear passengers and rear luxury features for those who wanted to be chauffered around.

The new VK45DD direct-injection V8 (later models had the VK45DE) features in the Japanese Cima, alongside the VQ30DET V6 turbo, both producing 208kW, or 280hp. A 5 speed automatic transmission only is available for rear wheel drive models, 4WD models have a 4 speed automatic.

Amongst the standard and optional features available across various models, Cimas can come with ABS brakes, traction control, multiple airbags, LSD, electric front and rear seats, heated seats, electric steering column, electric boot close, rear seat massage, rear audio and climate controls, radar guided cruise control, sunroof, BOSE sound system, CD stacker, reversing camera and leather interior.

President Sovereign: Long wheel base top spec luxury model with longer rear doors and more rear legroom. These cars feature all of the luxury options available including radar cruise control, power trunk, power rear seats, power rear sunshade, rear door shades, rear tables, rear audio and climate controls, rear flip down screen, power fold away passenger front seat, and a front passenger seat with fold away back section to allow rear passengers to rest their feet. Available in a 4 or 5 seat version, with 4 seat versions having only 2 seats in the rear and a centre arm rest and console. This model is allowed for import
300G: 3.0L V6 turbo. Similar in spec to a 450XV however did not have Xenon headlights, electric steering column, and cruise control was optional. This model is not allowed for import
450XV FOUR and 450VIP FOUR: 4.5L V8 variants with 4WD. These models are not allowed for import
